SEO for small businesses that want to be found on Google.

SEO works best when it's part of how a site is built, not added afterward. I start with the technical foundations Google looks for, then shape the content around what your customers actually search.

What’s included in SEO

A solid base, then steady improvement. The work covers the technical side, the content and the measurement.

  • Technical foundations: crawlable structure, sitemap, robots file and canonical URLs
  • Page titles, descriptions and headings written for each page's topic
  • Structured data (schema markup) so search engines understand your business
  • Speed and mobile usability, which matter for visitors and search
  • Local SEO for businesses that serve a specific area, including service-area pages
  • Search Console and analytics setup, with your sitemap submitted at launch
  • Performance reviews once real data comes in, with recommended improvements in priority order

How I approach SEO

I start by working out what your customers search for and which pages need to exist to answer it. For a roofer that might be roof repair, storm damage and replacement; for a bookkeeper it might be monthly bookkeeping for small businesses and catch-up bookkeeping. Each topic gets a page built for it.

Then the technical work: fast pages, a clean structure, schema markup, a sitemap and a properly set-up Search Console. Once the site has been live long enough to collect real data, we review what's working, what's close and what to improve next.

I also review the SEO of existing websites. If you already have a site, I can look at how it's set up, what's holding it back and whether to improve it or rebuild.

One thing I won't do is promise rankings. No one can. What a properly built site gives you is the strongest foundation for being found, plus the data to keep improving.

When you need SEO help

  • Your business doesn't show up when people search for what you do.
  • You've never set up Google Search Console.
  • One page covers all your services.
  • Your site is slow or hard to use on a phone.
  • You're launching a new site and want it set up properly from day one.

SEO questions

Can you guarantee first-page rankings?

No, and be careful with anyone who does. I can build the site the way search engines reward and track the results so we know what to improve.

How long does SEO take?

New sites often need time just to be found and indexed. Meaningful movement commonly takes months, longer in competitive markets.

Do I need local SEO?

If your customers are in a particular area, yes. It's built from your site, your Google Business Profile, your reviews and consistent business details.

Is SEO included when you build a site?

Yes, the technical foundations and page structure are part of every build. Ongoing improvement after launch is a separate decision based on what the data shows.
